For those of you who were not at the meeting we spent today getting a handle on the task before us. We have big plans but obviously must take it one step at a time. We would like to develop goals for how we can impact our church, community, and world. Much of the discussion today revolved around the implementation of recycling in our church building. Gillie has taken on the task of finding out more about our trash service and if they offer pick up for recyclables. We would also like to begin educating the congregation whether through articles in the oakin or weekly notes in the loop.
Some other future plans/suggestions include:
Mug-raiser
Energy Audit
Getting rid of Styrofoam
Toy library
Bible study about creation care
How do we reduce use of paper, energy, water, and other resources
These are just a few of the suggestions made and we have a big task ahead of us. The hope is that we will be able to use this blog as a meeting site instead of meeting face-to-face so post your ideas and findings and we look forward to moving forward.
